About Trish’s work

I am a licensed professional counselor with over eight years of extensive experience across a variety of therapeutic settings, including community mental health centers, private practice, and educational environments. My clinical expertise lies in several areas, with a strong focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness-based interventions. These modalities allow me to provide clients with effective, evidence-based tools that promote personal growth, emotional healing, and overall mental well-being.

In my practice, I prioritize a compassionate and client-centered approach, recognizing the unique experiences and challenges each individual faces. I strive to create a welcoming and safe space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we work collaboratively to identify their goals and develop personalized strategies to address their specific needs.

I earned my degree in Social Work from Boston College in 2015, where I gained a solid foundation in social justice and advocacy. My prior education includes a degree in Missions from Asbury University in 2009, which has shaped my understanding of cultural competence and the importance of holistic care. Throughout my career, I have engaged with various populations, particularly working with unhoused individuals through organizations like the Salvation Army and the Union Mission, where I supported them in navigating the complexities of their circumstances.

Additionally, I have contributed my expertise to the Kinship Unit within the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), where I assisted families in need of support and resources. My experience in the school system further deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by children, adolescents, and families, specifically how childhood trauma impacts the family system and adult mental health outcomes. This understanding enables me to provide tailored interventions to support healing for my clients.

Currently, as a licensed counselor, I am passionate about empowering individuals to overcome their obstacles and transform their lives. I believe in the strength of each person’s story and work diligently to help them find their path to healing and fulfillment.
